Generic Account Exec for Insurance (Retail)

Our client is seeking an account executive who has experience managing client relationships to acquire new business and retain existing accounts by identifying needs, proposing solutions, and negotiating coverage. Key responsibilities include prospecting, client consultation, risk assessment, and acting as the primary point of contact for inquiries and claims. The role requires strong sales and communication skills, knowledge of insurance products, and the ability to manage a book of business. 

Core responsibilities

 

  • Client relationship management: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, build strong relationships, and provide high-quality service throughout the client lifecycle.
  • Business development: Proactively identify and prospect new clients to grow the agency’s book of business.
  • Needs assessment and risk analysis: Meet with clients to understand their insurance needs, assess their risks, and recommend tailored coverage solutions.
  • Policy negotiation: Work with insurance carriers and underwriters to negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing to secure the best possible coverage for clients.
  • Sales and retention: Present insurance proposals, advise clients on coverage options, and actively seek opportunities to increase coverage or “round out” accounts.
  • Renewal management: Manage the renewal process for existing clients, including conducting proactive reviews, gathering underwriting information, and preparing renewal proposals.
  • Issue resolution: Address client inquiries, concerns, and claims in a timely and professional manner.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports on production, client activity, and financial information. 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong sales, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of insurance products, coverages, and underwriting processes.
  • Proficiency with insurance agency management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • An active Property & Casualty insurance license is often required or preferred. 
  • Skills needed to be an insurance Account.
